1930s Czech globes

Era: 1930s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Small 1930s Czech pendants salvaged from a school building within former Czechoslovakia. Sensitively restored to simple cable-suspended ceiling lights with a polished aluminium gallery and tinted opaline glass globe creating a soft glow when illuminated. Ideal suspended in rows or in a cluster at various heights as a statement piece.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Once a vintage light has undergone restoration in our workshop the final step is reassembly. All of the components, both new and refurbished, are meticulously pieced together. Each light is then photographed and added to our collection alongside information about its origins and history we’ve discovered through our research. The next chapter in the light’s story is up to you.

Supplied with a new screw (E14) lamp holder, 2mtrs of Stainless Steel braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable or an E12 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
