skinflint joins 1% for the Planet
skinflint is pleased to have partnered with 1% for the Planet, meaning each year 1% of our sales will be donated to a range of carefully considered nonprofits working on the issues most important to us. That is: to halt climate change and create a sustainable future for our people and planet.
Over the years we’ve proudly supported a range of charities including Help Refugees, Cornwall-based ShelterBox, and many other local community schemes. This year our commitment to 1% for the Planet, alongside our B Corp certification and our signing of the Better Business Act, builds on our intention to use business as a force for good.
1% for the Planet is all about accelerating smart environmental giving to create positive impact and change, and the 1% network is global and diverse, proving that anyone can make a difference, from individual members to large corporations. We hope others will join us in doing the same.
For our 2020-2021 financial year, the skinflint team voted to donate to 1%’s approved nonprofits working to effect change in our local area here in Cornwall, as well as on a national level in the UK: Surfers Against Sewage, Cool Earth, Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust, and The B4 Project.
All of us are looking forward to developing our charitable giving strategy over the coming month and years with 1% for the Planet. Watch this space for future plans!
