This table light started life in 1960s Hungary after a tumultuous period in the country’s history. Salvaged from a private residence, this retro lamp is in its original finish with a new integral switch on the base. Perfect for task lighting, lounges, and bedrooms.

Origin: Hungary

We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

At skinflint, restoration means preserving the rich history and heritage of each light, whilst also taking care to fully restore any degraded components. All original electrical elements are removed and replaced with brand new certified components, so each vintage light can go on to live for another hundred years. It’s product circularity in practice.

Product details

Each light is supplied tested and rewired with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2.5mtrs elephant grey braided cable, and plug. If you would prefer another colour cable, please just ask.
