1950s oxidised Hungarian pendants

These 1950s pendants witnessed the slow downfall of Communist rule in the Eastern Bloc during an oppressive and tumultuous time in Hungarian history. Providing illumination to a factory in the industrial hub of Budapest, these enamelled pendants feature an original glass well and large oxidised steel gallery. The patina and manufacturer's markings on the shade are indicative of their rich history. Perfect for providing downlighting over kitchen countertops.

We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable, please just ask.
