German medical lamp

An interesting converted medical lamp by German manufacturer 'Thelta Sonne' from the 1960s. A substantial polished aluminium shade, arm and base, complete with its original maker's plaque. There is lateral adjustment of the shade at the arm joint.

Origin: Germany

German designs are famed for their clean lined and well engineered approach. The Bauhaus School played a major role in combining design with engineering during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A number of lights we salvage were influenced by Bauhaus School design. From the mid to late 20th century, Communist East Germany produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications, often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

At skinflint all original electrical elements are removed and replaced with brand new, certified components (EN60598 if your electrician asks). Any pre-wired lights are then rewired, tested and certified in line with electrical safety standards BS EN 60598. That way you have a light you can rely on every day, for decades to come.

The light is supplied tested and rewired with two metres of traditional burgundy braided cable, new screw (E27) lamp holder, base-mounted toggle switch and plug.
