1970s cut-glass retro wall lights

Era: 1970s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Once illuminating hotel lobbies in former Czechoslovakia, these retro wall lights started life in the 1970s. Original moulded cut-glass shades create an upwards, geometric distribution of light when illuminated. Brass brackets add warmth to the aesthetic, making a great addition to hallways and lobby areas, solo or in groups, for both commercial projects and private residences.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

The final step of the restoration process of each light is reassembly. All of the components, both new and refurbished, are meticulously pieced together in our workshops. Each light is then photographed and added to our collection alongside information about its origins and history we’ve discovered through our research. What happens next is up to you.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder. (If you would prefer an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask). Can only be installed in upwards orientation.
