1970s cut glass Czech chandelier (V2)

Salvaged from former Czechoslovakia, this original cut glass chandelier has a distinctive 1970s retro style making it a real feature piece. With four moulded glass enclosures designed to enhance the direction of light when illuminated, the original paint finish on the enclosure and ceiling rose has also been retained.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

This cut glass Czech chandelier has been meticulously restored by our experts ready for modern day use. The restoration process our lighting goes through can take many months, first gently disassembling each light fitting allowing us to spot any flaws and plan how best to bring it up to modern electrical standards. Then, our team of experts patiently restore each component by hand.

The light is supplied tested and rewired with 4no. new screw (E27) lamp holders, ceiling mounting plate and original rose.
