Vintage industrial Soviet pendant lighting

Reclaimed pendant lights salvaged from industrial sites within the former Soviet Union. Each light comprises a low profile black enamel shade with an interesting open vented polished aluminium upper gallery.

Many of the products we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc were produced in the former U.S.S.R. and are defined by a clean industrial aesthetic. As with other Communist countries, the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. Lights from this region are often defined by their distinctive light green, two-tone colourways.

Restoration

The industrial heritage and age of the products is emphasised by the worn finish to shades. A vented gallery allows for an element of up-lighting which adds a nice feature when the pendants are lit. Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your project. The first and most important stage is fully dismantling each and every light - we do this even if we have hundreds of identical lights. We then undertake an in-depth review of its construction and following that, map its journey through restoration.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
