A large run of unusual 1960s glass wall lights from the former Eastern Bloc. These lights were originally installed throughout the circulation areas of residential buildings within the former Czechoslovakia.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Square white opaline glass enclosures with a moulded curved detail. The glass produces an even glow and distribution of light when illuminated. Mounted to a brushed aluminium wall plate that has been aqua-blasted to remove any corrosion.

Each light is supplied with a new bayonet (B22) lamp holder. Suitable for use as both wall and ceiling fittings.
