Vintage Czech glass chandelier (V2)

A stunning 1960's chandelier salvaged from residential apartment blocks in former Czechoslovakia. Featuring a chrome-plated stem, arms and a central baluster with decorative hardwood detailing. The five, open-topped opaline glass globes create an even glow when illuminated.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Part our vintage Czech pendant lighting collection for Spring Summer, this chandelier is a perfect example of the synonymous with the 1960s elegant Czech lighting style. Lights like this once hung in the grand civic buildings and, hotel lobbies of former Czechoslovakia. Now meticulously restored by our experts ready for modern day use.
