Stepped Czech opaline pendant lights (V3)

An original pair of 1930s Czechoslovakian pendants salvaged from a hotel. With a distinctive stepped matt opal glass shade and polished brass gallery, they are ideally suited as statement entranceway lights, creating a subtle diffused glow when illuminated.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your home - from stripping down and rewiring, to applying a finish and sealing the light preventing further degradation to the surface.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of brass suspension chain, traditional old gold braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
