Retro moulded glass Czech pendants (V1)

Small yet striking lights salvaged from a civic building in Prague in former Czechoslovakia. Surrounded by brushed stainless steel rings, the open-bottomed glass shade has prismatic detailing to the inside and a moulded spotted design to the outer, making for eye-catching feature pendants.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

In the mid 20th century, lights were designed with care and made to last. The work we do at skinflint is based on respecting and preserving the heritage of each piece. Forming part of our vintage Czech lighting collection for Spring Summer, each light has been meticulously restored by our experts ready for modern day use.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of elephant gey braided cable and a ceiling suspension plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable please just ask).
