Retro Czech prismatic glass pendants (V2)

Striking in style, these 1960s retro pendants started their journey illuminating civic buildings in Prague, former Czechoslovakia. Each open-bottomed glass shade features prismatic checkerboard and linear patterning, creating a warm glow of illumination when lit. Great as feature pendants in groups of suspended as solos.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Most modern bulbs, particularly environmentally friendly LED bulbs, are smaller than those the lights were originally designed to take. We redesign and adjust the positioning of the new lamp holder to give you a light that illuminates your space, perfectly.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of brass braided cable and a ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable or an E26 lamp holder (USA), please just ask.
