1960s retro ceiling lights salvaged from former Czechoslovakia. Refurbished by hand, the original opaline glass shade and black paint finish have been retained and sealed. Providing an even glow when illuminated.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is refurbished and updated for modern-day use ready for your home. From stripping down and rewiring, to applying a finish and sealing the light preventing further degradation to the surface.
