These retro ceiling lights started their journey illuminating restaurants in former Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. A cross-cut glass enclosure creates a diamond effect when illuminated, perfect for kitchens, dining rooms and smaller spaces in need of bright illumination. Place in rows for added visual impact.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Each and every light that we find goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for modern-day use. The first and most crucial stage is fully dismantling each piece - we do this even if we have many of the same identical lights - allowing us to undertake an in-depth review of its construction, state of repair, and map its journey through to restoration.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder. If you would like an E26 lamp holder (USA), please just ask. Suitable as a wall or ceiling fitting.
