Hungarian power station wall lights

Era: 1950s Origin: Hungary

Salvaged industrial wall lights from a Hungarian power station. Asymmetrical vitreous enamelled shade with embossed manufactures detailing and swan neck wall bracket. The shade is angled for illumination of a wall or object and provides an elliptical light distribution.

We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

Before a light can be restored, any damaged outdated components will require repair or replacing. As part of this work we replace original imperial screws with their modern-day metric counterparts and rework their screw ports to take them. We replace the original electrics with brand new, fully certified EN60598 components - this gives you peace of mind, knowing your vintage light is as safe to use as any modern light.
