A large run of vintage opaline glass pendant lights salvaged from a school in former Czechoslovakia - the decorative underside and new spun polished brass gallery making these striking feature lights, with an even glow when illuminated.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

The restoration process our lighting goes through can take many months. To begin, we gently disassemble each light fitting, letting us spot any flaws and plan how best to bring it up to modern electrical standards. Then, our team of experts patiently restore each component by hand.

Product details

Each light is supplied with a new bayonet (B22) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, traditional old gold braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable , please just ask.
