Czech opaline glass pendant (V2)

This stepped glass opaline pendant began life in the 1930s in former Czechoslovakia. Salvaged from a private residence, it features a striking brass gallery with an antique patina and a stem with decorative detailing. Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Each one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to take it from the condition it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your interiors. From stripping down and rewiring, to applying a finish and sealing the light preventing further degradation to the surface.
