1960s Czech hotel lighting (V2)

Salvaged from a hotel lobby in former Czechoslovakia this chandelier has a classic 1960s styling. Sensitively restored by our team, we have been able to retain all of the original features including the copper-plated galleries, stems and painted balusters. The two open-bottomed moulded glass shades create a beautiful effect when illuminated.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

The work we do at skinflint is based on three guiding principles: To salvage the best lighting from the 1920s to the 1970s; To restore every piece sensitively - without compromising its character; To restore each fixture to the highest modern standards.

The light is supplied rewired and tested with 2no. screw (E27) lamp holders. If you require an E26 lamp holder (for the USA), please just ask.
