1960s Czech hotel chandelier (V1)

A statement piece salvaged from a hotel lobby in former Czechoslovakia. This chandelier has been sensitively restored by our team who have been able to retain the interesting original copper plating and painted finishes. The wire balusters create a classic retro style alongside the elegant open-bottomed moulded glass shades.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

In the mid 20th century, lights were designed with care and made to last. The work we do at skinflint is based on respecting and preserving the heritage of each piece. Every light we reclaim has two tales to tell - its original use, and how it came to be salvaged.

The light is supplied rewired and tested with 3no. screw (E27) lamp holders. If you require an E26 lamp holder (for the USA), please just ask.
