An original porcelain and glass wall light with a timeless shape and style. The opaline glass emits an even glow when illuminated. Designed by the German industrial designer Wilhelm Wagenfeld, who studied at the Bauhaus and was a pioneer of the modernist design movement.
German designs are famed for their clean lined and well engineered approach. The Bauhaus School played a major role in combining design with engineering during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A number of lights we salvage were influenced by Bauhaus School design. From the mid to late 20th century, Communist East Germany produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications, often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.
In the mid 20th century, lights were designed with care and made to last. The work we do at skinflint is based on respecting and preserving the heritage of each piece. Every light we reclaim has two tales to tell - its original use, and how it came to be salvaged. We’ll let you know its history but the next chapter is up to you.

"Genius Full Circle initative"
Love the lights, love your ethos. Absolutely what more companies need to be doing. I have my Retro Czech Ceiling Lights (V2) in my dining room and the spray of light they give off is gorgeous and unusual.
