A one off 1970s glass chandelier salvaged from Czechoslovakia comprising of four individual distinctive glass shades and the main enclosure which has been refurbished by hand, retaining the original brushed nickel plated finish.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Different materials require different processes. We tend not to repaint our lights as this can make them look too ‘new’ and they lose some of their of individuality. During restoration ferrous metals such as iron and steel will usually have a clear lacquer powder-coated onto the surface to prevent oxidisation The pendant is suspended through a minimal stainless steel suspension system (2mtr) with a ceiling mounting kit that permits millimetric adjustment.

Supplied tested and rewired with 4no. new screw (E14) lamp holders, 2mtrs of elephant grey braided cable, 2mtrs of suspension wire and a ceiling mounting plate.
