Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

The restoration process our vintage lighting goes through can take many months. First, we gently disassemble each light fitting allowing us to spot any flaws and plan how best to bring it up to modern electrical standards. Our team of experts then patiently restore each component by hand. The finished result is a meticulously restored vintage light that is ready for use for decades more to come.

Featuring the original spotted cut-glass globe and white vented Bakelite gallery, they have been sensitively restored ready for their next chapter. Great for creating drama in entrance ways, lounges and above kitchen islands.
