Eastern European desk light (V2)

Eastern European desk light, with a polished aluminium shade, brushed and lacquered steel stem and base. There are ball and socket joints at both the shade and the base of the stem so you can fully articulate the lamp to adjust the positioning.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

The final step of the restoration process of each light is reassembly. All of the components, both new and refurbished, are meticulously pieced together in our workshops. Each light is then photographed and added to our collection alongside information about its origins and history we’ve discovered through our research. What happens next is up to you.
