1920s Art Deco rodded pendant

Era: 1920s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Salvaged from a private residence on the outskirts of Prague, former Czechoslovakia, this 1920s Art Deco pendant has survived for over a century. A tinted opaline glass globe casts a warm and even glow when illuminated, complemented by an original polished brass rod and gallery. Great as a centrepiece in foyers, dining rooms and lounges.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your home. From stripping down and rewiring, to finishing and polishing original components, ensuring each light's life shines on.
