We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

Each vintage light we salvage starts the next stage of its journey in our warehouse in Cornwall, UK. It’s here that we gently disassemble each light into its individual parts, allowing us to catch any flaws. We then plan how we can best bring them up to modern-day standards.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, 2 mtrs of elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable please just ask.

Born in 1950s Hungary, these enamel pendants witnessed the slow downfall of Communist rule in the Eastern Bloc. Originally illuminating a factory in the industrial heart of Budapest, these lights bear a striking silhouette and provide strong downlighting, whilst the patina and maker’s marks have been maintained to honour their rich history. Ideal for lighting kitchen islands, or adding an industrial touch to bars and restaurants.
