Eastern Bloc machinists wall light

Era: 1950s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

A pair of 1950s machinists lights salvaged from a factory in former Czechoslovakia. Sensitively refurbished by hand, the light comprises a polished aluminium shade and new base with brushed and lacquered steel arms which can be adjusted and locked in position. Classic in design and style, the light is suitable for a range of interiors in need of task lighting.

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Before a light can be restored, we repair and replace and damaged outdated components. As part of this work we update the original electrics with brand new, fully certified EN60598 components - giving you peace of mind that your vintage light is as safe to use as any modern light.
