1950s industrial desk light

A timeless 1950s industrial machinist lamp, now converted to a table light with a new steel base. Classic in design and style, the light is suitable for a range of interiors in need of task lighting. Comprising a green vitreous enamelled shade and steel arms with a worn paint finish, the light can be rotated at the base and the shade, while the arms articulate at all junctures.

Lighting design in the UK benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time, designing and producing similar products for the same market. Often with only slight differences in their style, they constantly upgraded and improved their original designs. The products we salvage come from the old industrial heartland of England. This area of the UK was once the boiler room of the British economy - from the potteries of Stoke, through the engineering works of Birmingham, to the wool, textile and cotton mills of Oldham and Manchester.

Restoration

Before a light can be restored, any damaged outdated components are repaired or replaced. As part of this work we swap original imperial screws for their modern-day metric counterparts and rework their screw ports to fit them. Original electrics are also replaced with brand new, fully certified EN60598 components, giving you peace of mind that your vintage light is as safe to use as any modern light.

The light is supplied tested and rewired with two metres of traditional black braided cable, a new switched bayonet (B22) lamp holder and a plug.
