Retro 1960s Czech wall lights

These unusual glass and porcelain wall lights were originally manufactured in the 1960s. The moulded Czech glass enclosure adds interesting detail to the simplicity of the lights. The angled porcelain base has two wall fixing points.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your project. The first and most important stage is fully dismantling each and every light - we do this even if we have hundreds of identical lights. We then undertake an in-depth review of its construction and following that, map its journey through restoration.
