Groucho Club Vintage Bar Lights
The renowned arts and media private members club, based in Soho, London, was set up over 30 years ago and has recently undergone an extensive redesign and refurbishment by Michaelis Boyd Associates.
At the heart of the refurbishment is the Groucho Club’s immense art collection which features works by many renowned artists, from Yinka Shonibare and Eileen Cooper to Rachel Whiteread and Sir Peter Blake. As part of the refurbishment, both the main staircase and timber panelling have been fully restored and many other original features throughout the building have been highlighted to complement the collection.
The Soho bar has a unique atmosphere, with a diverse and eclectic style, featuring vibrant colours, reclaimed furniture, fabrics and lighting. 1970s Czech ceiling lights from skinflint’s decorative glassware collection were selected as feature lighting for the bar area, where their diffuse glow and understated elegance works well with the contemporary interior and highlight the bar’s resin and copper surface detailing.
