Firestation
Close to London’s Waterloo station, this Victorian Fire Station once housed the famous red engines and now its heritage is celebrated by an innovative interior scheme designed by Concorde BGW. They have succeeded in a sympathetic restoration of the many architectural features within the unique Grade II Municipal building, while using a number of skinflint fittings within the scheme.
A bistro style venue with an informal atmosphere, the Firestation offers food and drink all the day. The main seating area incorporates delicate 1950s ‘Loblite’ Bakelite and glass pendants along with larger elegant vitreous enamel pendants. Providing focus light above the main bar, mottled Eastern bloc fittings are suspended at a low height, originally used within industrial locations within the former Eastern Bloc during the 1950s.
