Caravan Bankside industrial linear lights

Caravan’s all-day coffee roasteries and restaurants offer a well-travelled feel to London’s food scene with five venues around the city. Caravan’s Bankside location - with interiors designed by Rebecca Richwhite alongside interior architecture studio Macaulay Sinclair - is the second restaurant in the group after Caravan King's Cross to feature skinflint’s vintage industrial lighting within.
Responding to Caravan’s casual menu and philosophy of exploration and discovery, the interior at Bankside continues the brand’s narrative with rich, earthy materials - linen, clay, earthenware and rustic oak timber which ensures a soft relaxed atmosphere for guests.
Like the King’s Cross and Fitzrovia locations, Bankside has been carefully selected for its character and architectural interest with many of the interior’s original features restored and exposed. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of the old Metal Box Factory and encompasses three former industrial and warehouse buildings which have been brought together by PRS Architects. The scheme’s muted colours, lime-washed walls and concrete textures are a perfect accent to the building’s heritage.
In keeping with the minimalistic interiors, a run of skinflint’s industrial enamelled ‘fluorescents’ salvaged from the famed Douglas Motorcycle Factory in Bristol, illuminate the lengthy bar and counter area below. The lights have been sensitively restored by hand by our team and have been updated to accept modern LED fixtures.
